Utah has seen 173,979 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 787 total deaths as of Saturday, according to the Utah Department of Health. That’s an increase of 3,395 cases from Friday. Fourteen new deaths were reported.
Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has ordered a statewide mask mandate as well as halts on extracurricular activities and casual social gatherings among those of different households as skyrocketing COVID-19 cases are straining hospitals.

Total COVID-19 hospitalizations: 7,458
Current COVID-19 hospitalizations: 551
Total COVID-19 deaths: 787
Single-day high for reported cases: 4,588 (Nov. 20)
Single-day high for reported deaths: 18 (Nov. 19)
Utahns can anticipate a “June or July time frame” for COVID-19 vaccines, a health official said Wednesday. Dosages will be available first for high-priority groups such as hospital staff
Utah health officials confirmed a record 503 current coronavirus hospitalizations on Monday. Hospitalizations since the pandemic began totaled 6,859.
Globally, the novel coronavirus pandemic has now infected 57,274,018 and killed 1,368,000 people as of Saturday, according to the World Health Organization.
