Elise Tanner, 25, photographed in Manchester, Conn., Friday, May 24, 2019, recently left her job at the University of Utah where she worked as a research associate for the Center for Driving Safety and Technology in the psychology department. While there she worked with a study about the use of semi-autonomous cars and became concerned with the way the study was being conducted. She and a colleague brought the matter to the Institutional Review Board. Tanner has since left her job and moved out of state.
