More people watched golf on TV than watched Megyn Kelly’s interview with Alex Jones

Megyn Kelly’s interview with Infowars founder Alex Jones on Sunday night tanked in the ratings, even as the program generally received positive reviews from CNN, The New York Times, and The Associated Press. Nielsen data shows that more people ultimately decided to spend their Sunday evening watching the U.S. Open golf championship or a rerun of America’s Funniest Home Videos than Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, Variety reports.

The program received the worst ratings since Kelly moved to NBC News. Her previous two episodes of Sunday Night averaged a 0.7 rating with adults 18-49, or about 4.9 million viewers. With Jones on the program, Kelly received a 0.5 average and 3.5 million viewers. For some context: Kelly’s Jones interview did about the same in the demographic as a 60 Minutes rerun.
